The Fleet Maintenance Manager position entails overseeing all shop activities in collaboration with Shop Supervisors. The focus is on ensuring safe and timely maintenance of company equipment. This role involves reviewing and auditing maintenance programs consistently to drive success in the truck maintenance department.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the Fleet Periodic Maintenance Inspection Program by regularly reviewing and auditing processes and procedures. This ensures quality inspections/repairs, proper documentation, and necessary process adjustments.
- Managing the Fleet Tire Program by regularly reviewing and auditing processes to ensure correct air pressure adjustments, proper tire repairs, and optimal tire utilization across the fleet.
- Maintaining proper parts inventory management and organization through regular inspections and process adherence.
- Fostering a positive team environment and promoting safe work practices.
- Providing coaching and mentorship to maintenance employees to cultivate a healthy work environment.
- Ensuring fleet compliance through daily inspections of company vehicles under Federal and State regulatory agencies.
- Encouraging the use of technology like Dossier to enhance shop performance.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ten years’ experience as a Maintenance Manager, managing 15 shop employees daily
- Work experience in environmental compliance and knowledge of relevant regulations
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ability to learn internal maintenance software
- Experience in implementing safety programs in a fleet environment
- Proficiency in resolving human resource and labor relations issues
- Physical ability to meet job requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish
- Extensive experience in fleet maintenance and shop operations
- Experience in vendor management and purchasing systems
- Background as a mechanic, shop supervisor, or fleet manager with hands-on experience
Salary $93,000 - $139,000
